Vintage c. 1920's Large Die-cut Boxers Cardboard Display
Item Description
Large Die-Cut Vintage Boxers Display.
Year of Issue:
c. 1920's
Unique vintage cardboard display of a Boxing scene.
This piece consists of two pieces. A boxer standing up and another boxer on the canvas with the referee counting over him.
The two large die-cut cardboard pieces exhibit some restoration and repair and are attached to a large cardboard mat board.
This brings to mind the Jack Dempsey vs. Gene Tunney long count fight or the Jack Sharkey vs. Max Schmeling DQ bout.
I don't know the origin of this piece as I've never seen an example of this before.
Possibly a part an advertising display or something similar.
SIZE - Display measures about 40" x 34" inches in size.
CONDITION - Very presentable with some wear and pinholes visible on the pieces. Some restoration as mentioned.
