Item Description

Dear Friends:

I am pleased to offer the 3rd edition of my book "America's Great Boxing Cards", a price guide, encyclopedia and checklist of American boxing cards from 1886-1966. The books are in stock and ready to ship.

Many of you already have the first or second editions of the book. The third edition picks up where the others stopped, with all of the data that made the prior editions so useful plus a ton of new research. I added many sets of vintage boxing cards to the listings, greatly expanded the W (strip) cards, and added expanded checklists of rare and significant sets, many images to the book, including photographs of nearly every known E211 York card, and refined the Exhibit section. I am particularly pleased to have conclusively solved two significant questions of boxing card collecting involving T and Exhibit cards.

Active collectors will find this book is a necessity due to the price updates. There have been dramatic changes in the prices of vintage boxing cards over the last year, and I have included them all (almost). You will find vastly expanded pricing reflecting actual results of Ebay sales, auctions and private sales with many hundreds of new, up to date prices. Want to know what boxing cards now fetch a previously unheard-of $2,500+ per card? What sets haven’t been seen in years for sale in any forum? Buy this book and you will find out. And I never make up prices based on extrapolations from other card sales, like so many price "guides" out there. In my view, extrapolating prices not only distorts the pricing, it misleads the collector into believing that every card is available in every grade when in fact many cards are worth purchasing in any grade.

I strongly recommend this book for anybody interested in collecting Boxing Cards and Exhibits.
